Getting Around Turkey

Flights
The main domestic carrier is Turkish Airlines. They have regular connections from Istanbul to rendezvous with us on the south coast. The closest airport is usually Dalaman.Note: It can sometimes be significantly cheaper to book your internal flights with a local Turkish agent, rather than from overseas. Go shopping online!
One of Turkey's most impressive historic sites is the ancient city of Ephesus (the Acropolis has nothing on this!). The closest airport is Izmir; there is also a ferry connection between Samos (Greece) and Kusadasi, the modern-day port close to Ephesus. It's also possible to do an overland minibus trip to/from our meeting point of Keci Buku to Ephesus, personal tour guide all included! We have an excellent contact in the States who can organise this; ask us for details.
Overland
The Turkish bus system is efficient, fast, and amazingly inexpensive. The buses themselves are modern, clean and on the longer trips, even come with hostess service!
For shorter trips - take a local "dolmus". These handy minibuses are everywhere in Turkey - they function as taxis, a public bus service, or a mixture of both!
